Miracles, Healings &
Testimonies
- The following are real life
examples of how our Lord Jesus Christ
- answers prayer, and shows His
faithfulness . . .
I have attended church for many
years, but I had never given myself to tithing. There always seemed to be
a reason: “ There’s just not enough money.” Or; here is, “this” bill, or
“that” bill. Of course there was, “this” want and “that” want. Each of
these needs and wants were all the excuse necessary to allow me to give
only meager offerings, once in a while.
In the fall of 1998, I made a
fresh commitment to The Lord Jesus Christ, and with that commitment, we
began to tithe. 1999 was our first full year of tithing. In December,
1999, I received my annual raise, 4.1%. The company average was 3.9%.
Annual increases had been significantly low for several years and the
added .2% let those who received it know they were doing a good job. In January 2000, I received notice
that my position in the company had been re-evaluated and I received a 3%
salary increase as a result. In March, I received my annual bonus and
was given a 25% increase over the previous year.
After a casual conversation with a
personal friend, I received an offer from another company, which was
completely unexpected and unsolicited. With this new company, I could
immediately begin to receive a 15.5% salary increase, as well as a 4.5%
signing bonus, with great opportunity to advance. I most humbly
accepted. “Ahem”
I have been at my new job for 3
weeks as of this writing, and have discovered that it was not only a
financial blessing, but God has put me in a position that is, and will be,
enjoyable far beyond any expectation I might have had. Not only that,
on the very first day of work I had opportunity to share Christ with two
of my peers, and they are both open to The Gospel. Thank God!
I need no further proof that
God Is faithful to “open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing
that you cannot contain” when we are obedient to Him in our finances.
Glory to God!

In May 1999 I was making a
presentation at a local hotel and had taken my computer and monitor from
the office. As I lifted the monitor out of the car, I knew I had done
something wrong. My back began to hurt and the next day I could hardly
move. The doctor finally ordered x-rays and an MRI. He told me that I
had a curvature of the spine and that arthritis was also causing spurs on
my spine. I was diagnosed as having, Spinal Sinosis, a pinching of the
nerves in the spinal column. I began to limp and have spasms, which
would cause me to bend over from the pain.
After consultation with a
specialist, who confirmed the diagnosis, the solutions were; live with the
pain, spinal shots or a back operation. Spinal shots did not work so we
asked to see the surgeon. I searched the Internet and found that, in this
type of surgery, successes were few and failures many. Regardless, my
wife Lois and I had already decided that the Lord would see us through
this, and living with pain was not a viable option. The doctor gave us
dismal statistics about the operation, but because we so felt the Lord was
in it, Lois and I immediately decided that we were to proceed. The doctor
was astonished that we so readily agreed to the procedure. We knew the
Lord was in it with us.
The date was set and we prepared
ourselves with daily prayer asking the Lord to guide the doctor, and us.
Lois and I asked our church to pray also. Other churches, as well as
our friends, began to pray. The Sunday before the operation we went to
the altar for prayer. The Lord spoke to both of us that “all is
well” and the peace of God began to flow in us. On the day of the
operation all I could do was pray in tongues and keep repeating, “All is
well”. As I began to lose consciousness, I could almost hear a voice
say, “All is well son.” After the operation I had no pain in my back. I
had a button to push for morphine but used it only once before I went to
therapy the next day. I could only say, “Thank you Lord.
Two weeks later I returned for
the post operation meeting. Because of some contingency problems, the
doctor sent me to a neurologist. They found that I had had a stroke. There
was bleeding from the brain. But The Lord began to tell me and confirmed
to my wife that “All is well.” Thank God for Lois my helpmate.
I entered the hospital again that evening. After
many tests the doctor came to my room to give the results. It was a
stroke that had occurred during the operation and was complicated by a
“hole” in my heart I had unknowingly had since birth. I was released
from the hospital and told to consider my options and see him again in
two weeks.
We again asked
the church to pray as we continued to confess “All is well.” Two weeks
later, after examining me, the doctor said “For a stroke patient you’ve
come a long way in four weeks.” I had lived with the hole in my heart for
67 years. They felt there was no need for an operation. I was to take an
aspirin a day for the rest of my life. That’s it! Thank God! Lois and I
both felt that the Lord had truly taken care of every thing and that “All
truly is well”.
I love and
appreciate my wife more than ever. I love the body of Christ more than
ever, and most of all I love The Lord Jesus Christ more than ever. I
am totally without pain. I am healing wonderfully from the stroke and have
been released from the therapist. The doctor said I would not know that I
had even had a stroke within a few months. Lois and I thank the “body of
Christ” for their prayers and we thank the Lord that “All is well”. Thank God for His voice of comfort in time of need,
and His faithfulness to answer the prayers of His Saints.

- A Miracle for Amy
A year ago my daughter was a
happy, healthy 5’3", 130 lb. teenager. She had started her sophomore year
with a new look, a new hairstyle and a determination to become bolder. She
had always been a very shy child and wanted so desperately to come out of
it. She was beginning to take interest in guys, but was too afraid to talk
to them.
As you know, kids can be cruel at times and
some of the guys started teasing the girls about their weight. This went
on for most of her school year and it became harder and harder for her to
tolerate. The girls decided to go on a fruit diet for lunch. Then
in her "Facts" they were teaching the difference between Bulimic and
Anorexics. She decided this was an easy way for her to lose weight.
She acted like a normal teenager but as a few months past I began to
notice a change in her. I could see she had dropped a few pounds, but her
attitude also changed. She was becoming very moody and always exercising.
She took aerobics and weight training in school and walked with my husband
and I at night. At dinner we sat down as a family and ate dinner and then
she would go into the bathroom and purge. I had no idea she was doing this
until months later. When school ended she began a more fierce dieting
routine. She was harder to talk to, she always looked pale and would snap
at you if you mentioned her weight. I knew this was not my Amy. She would
always say ho9w fat she thought she looked. She always wore baggy clothes
so you couldn’t tell except through her face that she was losing weight.
I had enough of her grumbling to everyone
so we took her to the Doctor. She stepped on the scale and to all
out surprise she weighed 110 lbs. We found out then that her
monthly cycle had stopped 6 months ago prior to this. The Doctor took
blood to determine just exactly what was going on with this child.
When we received the results back, it stated that her thyroid had died.
The Doctor was stunned at this result, as he had never seen this before in
a child. With all the constant blood work she was starting to
regret the dieting. Also, the Doctor found that the Pituitary in her brain
did not function either, which meant that she would only have a slim
chance of having children in the future. She couldn’t stand to look at
food, as it made her sick to her stomach. She would have to turn her face
away from the plate just to get a few bites down. It was a tough year to
get through and we thought the worst was over.
However, in January of this year, Amy came
down with the flu. She had also dropped down to 105 lbs. She became
dehydrated and anemic. She was dizzy all the time and her stomach hurt so
badly, that she could not stand for anything to touch it. Her body was so
frail that I began to think that her body was just giving up. She could
barely walk without help; it took her a lot of strength for her to even
speak. She dropped another 5 lbs. She just kept telling me that she didn’t
ever want to feel this way again. We had prayers going out everywhere for
her. We prayed day and night for this little one. Three days later I came
home from work and she came running out to greet me. Now this was the same
child I helped get dressed the night before because she was too weak to
dress herself after a bath. I looked at her and asked what in the world
was going on? She just simply said, "Mom, God healed me." Her eyes had a
sparkle in them that I had not seen in days. She said she was just lying
in our prayer room, praying for healing for her body. She told God
that she did not want to feel like this anymore and asked Him to please
heal her. At that moment she felt a warm sensation going up and down her
body and she knew instantly that God as healing her. She stood
there before me, so happy, jumping up and down and bending over and
probing her stomach that had been so sore the night before that she could
not move. I mean to tell you this family is so very grateful for what God
has done for us. In the following days, Amy gained 5 more lbs. and is
still trying very hard to gain. She eats a lot more now and does not have
to look away from her plate. All we can say is PRAISE GOD! Parents –
please don’t think for one minute that this could never happen to your
child, that it only happens on TV. We thought that also. God is still at
work – Miracles are still happening!
- Amy’s Mom
- It was mid-afternoon on June 11, 1997.
Since my husband Bill would be coming home from work in a little while, I
started to prepare our evening meal. I wanted to deep-fry some catfish, so
I put a pot filled with grease on the stove and turned on the burners.
While the grease was heating, I went down in the basement and put a load
of clothes in the washer. This only took about five minutes. When
I came back up the stairs, I was horrified because the window curtains
next to the stove were on fire. I immediately went into a state of panic!
- We had a fire extinguisher hanging on the
wall but I could not remember how to use it. The only thing I could think
of was to call out the name of Jesus. So I ran around shouting, "Jesus,
Jesus, Oh Jesus!" I ran out on the front porch and was just about to yell
"FIRE" when I saw my neighbor (2 doors up the street) sitting on his front
porch. Since he has had several strokes and a heart attack, I did not yell
"FIRE" because I did not want to frighten him into having another one. I
ran back into the house and threw some water on the fire. I had forgotten
that you are not supposed to throw water on a grease fire. The fire
immediately blazed even higher, quickly spread throughout the kitchen and
thick black smoke began to fill the house. By this time, I was really
scared and I called on Jesus some more. After what seemed like an
eternity, it seems as if He (Jesus) said, "Teddy, I’ve heard you. Now call
911!" So I did!
-
- The 911 operator told me to get out of the
house, so I went out and sat on the front porch like nothing was
happening. Thank God, the firemen responded quickly. In practically no
time at all, they knocked a 15 foot hole in our north (exterior) wall,
tore down the ceiling in the kitchen and using foam extinguishers, put out
the fire. Then they brought in a big fan that sucked most of the smoke out
of the house. And, to my surprise, they even apologized to me for having
to do so much damage to our house. I am so grateful to God that the fire
did not explode in my face when I threw water on it and that I was not
trapped down in the basement.
- I did not call Bill at work because I did
not want him driving fast and maybe having an accident in his hurry to get
home. I prayed that all the fire trucks and the ambulance would be gone
before he arrived. Thank God, my prayer was answered. When Bill finally
arrived, I met him on the front porch and broke it to him gently. We were
both so thankful that I was OK. As soon as he saw what had happened, Bill
called the insurance company. Within two hours, they sent a crew to put
plywood over the big hole in the side of our house and secured the
property. I cried most of that first night. I could not stop
thinking about what could have been had it not been for the mercy and
grace of God.
-
- The next day, we remembered our prayer from
about a week earlier. We had been sitting in the kitchen doing our morning
Bible Study. Afterwards, we talked about possibly refinishing our kitchen
cabinets while the weather was warm and we could have the windows open. We
prayed and asked God to bless us with some new appliances and carpeting.
We also prayed that the summer would be cool so we would not have to run
our air conditioner until late summer. Finally, we prayed for some
opportunities to go fishing.
- The insurance company put us in a very
nice, furnished apartment at Whispering Lake and we had opportunities to
go fishing all summer long. Since the electricity and gas in our house had
been disconnected, we never did turn on the air conditioner. We spent six
and one-half months away from our home and went through some very
frustrating times with the contractors. However, Romans 8:28 says
that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.
Hallelujah! What the devil meant for evil, God turned into a major
blessing for us and we give Him all the praise. We now have a
kitchen complete with brand new walls and ceiling, countertops, wallpaper,
sink and fixtures, range, vent hood, convection oven, re-painted
refrigerator, ceiling fan, carpeted floor, and freshly painted cabinets.
Out exterior wall has been completely repaired and because of the smoke
damage, our entire downstairs and part of the upstairs has been cleaned
and painted and the floors and stairs covered with beautiful new
carpeting. And, in addition to all of that, our house has been re-wired to
the new city codes and almost everything in the house has been
professionally cleaned. What a wonderful God we serve. We received far
more than we had even asked for! Hallelujah! Ain’t God Good!

- God’s grace is sufficient and I have seen
many miracles that have occurred through the power of the Holy Spirit when
people pray. After dealing with hostility and conflict among staff in one
of my work places, I began to pray when the building was empty, anointing
the building with oil. One year later the staff has changed and a spirit
of peace, joy and unity began to dominate. God’s spirit blew into this
environment and changed the entire atmosphere. I give Him all praise,
honor and glory.

- Isaiah 43:2 – When we pass through waters,
the Lord will be with us. So it was with Bill & I. Bill needed a cataract
operation on his eyes. The operation on his right eye just went fine – no
trouble. But when they operated on the left eye, problems developed after
we got home. About midnight he woke me up and told me was very sick with a
headache and vomiting. The next morning we returned to the Doctor, but
they could not bring the pressure down. He sent us to another doctor and
they told us Bill had infection in the eye of the worst kind and hard to
cure. They hospitalized him and gave him antibiotics, but the infection
would not clear and his eye only became worse. The doctor talked to Bill
and I and said the only way to stop the infection was to remove his eye.
We were heartsick. We told the doctor we needed time to pray and get God’s
will. I came home and Pastor Roberta called and we prayed. As I sat there
crying, the Lord impressed me to get busy doing something, so I made out
checks for bills. My mind began to settle down and I received peace.
- The next morning I went to the
hospital and learned God had visited Bill. The Lord reminded him
that He had been blind before and God had given him spiritual eyes and He
would do it again. (Bill was born again in his 50’s.) God gave him peace
about the loss of his natural eye and assured him He would take care of
it. We both had great peace. We were so glad the Lord kept us from getting
bitter. God gave us a love for the doctor and allowed us to be a witness
to him and his staff. When Bill came home from the hospital, the Lord
helped me to take care of his eye. There are no mistakes with God. Bill
has his new eye now and it really looks good. The doctors were amazed at
how well the eye socket healed and the fit of the new eye. But
especially do we give God glory for the peace, the joyful attitude and
assurance that He gave us in this difficult time. Surely when we
pass through the waters, they shall not overflow us for He has said, "I
will be with you."

- Marie Folscroft
- In early May, 1994, my daughter Christine
came over to visit and said, "Dad, you look like you are losing weight."
Not having been on a diet, I told her I had not been feeling well and I
thought some of the medicine I was taking for an ulcer was affecting my
weight. We made an appointment to see the doctor who had been treating me
for the ulcer condition. Through a routine testing of the blood, my blood
sugar levels were found to be extremely high and my doctor said he was
making an appointment for me to see a diabetes specialist.
- Two days later the diabetes specialist took
a second blood check, sugar levels were even higher. He told me the
diagnosis was very unusual for an adult, but I had Type I juvenile
diabetes with a complication of Ketoacidosis. This condition could have
caused a coma condition or worse. The doctor said this was absolutely life
threatening. After giving me an insulin shot in the office, he sent me
straight to the hospital to begin a series of high doses of insulin to
bring the sugar levels down.
- Concurrently, with me being in the
hospital, Evangelist Steve Sampson was holding a series of meetings here
at our church. While ministering on Sunday evening, the Lord gave him a
word of knowledge that there was someone that had diabetes and the Lord
was doing a work in their blood and was going to heal them - it would not
be instantaneous but over a period of time. Several friends from church
called Jane and I that night to tell us they had claimed this word for me.
My reply was, "Praise God, I believe it."
- I was released from the hospital and
settled into a routine of multiple blood checks and insulin shots each
day. About two and one half months later, during one of my visits to the
diabetes specialist, they did a blood test. The doctor came into the room
with a questioning smile on his face and told me, "You are not going to
believe this, but your levels are so good you do not need to take the
insulin shots anymore and you do not even have to take the pills." ALSO, I
had been taking blood pressure medication for ten years, he said my
pressure was normal, so do not take anymore of that medication. ALSO, I
had been taking medication for high Cholesterol for over eight years, he
said that was normal so do not take anymore of that medication. ALSO, the
original ulcer that started this whole thing could not be found PRAISE
GOD!
- My spirit almost leaped out of my body upon
all this news. The doctor did not have a medical explanation for all of
this and conceded it COULD have been a miracle. The Lord gave me a
scripture for this, Psalms 107:20-22 "He sent his word, and healed them,
and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praise the
Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his
works with rejoicing." I am PRAISING, REJOICING and DECLARING!
